Lights Out is Here!
Lights Out!, written by Vibha Batra and illustrated in monochrome by Sahitya Rani is here! The book follows Karthik and the villagers of Pothakkudi who find a sparrow’s nest in their electrical junction box. The only way for the sparrow to live is if the village goes without electricity till her eggs hatch. Order it on our website now!
We had some storytelling sessions this month!
On the 7th August, Shobha Viswanath and Narayan Parasuram went to The Somaiya School in Mumbai where they did a session with our picture book, Little Vinayak.
Students of Don Bosco school in Mumbai were introduced to our picture book Monkeys on a Fast and some others by Shobha Viswanath and Narayan Parasuram on the 8th of August.
M. S. Lavanya also met with over 100 students from the primary grades of Vidyodaya School in Chennai, where Little Vinayak made another appearance.
We went to the Madurai Lit fest!
The Madurai Lit Fest was held on the 25th and 26th of this month. Shobha Viswanath was part of a panel discussion on Contemporary Issues in Children’s Literature. Shobha also did an interactive session with the children, based on our picture books Keshav’s Kolam and The Lion’s Feast. At the event, a stall was also set up, with some of our best-selling picture books on sale.
We Have Some Upcoming Events!
StORI Series Launch
We are excited to launch our new StORI series this month! The event will take place across multiple cities. Vishaka George, author of Ammini Against The Storm, will be in conversation with the Principal of DPS Rohini, Ms. Kanika in Gurgaon. In Pune, Shobha Viswanath will be in conversation with Ms. Nalini Singh Rajput, the Principal of Raghuvi Singh Junior Modern School.
Grandparents’ Day
Grandparents’ Day is a chance to celebrate the ones in our lives who are our partners in mischief, who shield us from our parents, and who have nothing but unconditional love for us. They are like a warm blanket making us feel safe and cherished.
Karadi Tales has published so many delightful books about grandparents and chose Grandparents’ Day to celebrate all of them at the same time!
For this event, Karadi Tales has put together a script that revolves around a birthday party! Dada (Dada’s Useless Present) is turning 82 and he is hosting a potluck! Neil and his Paati (My Grandmother Can’t Cook!), Malli (Paati’s Rasam),Tia and Thatha (Thatha’s Pumpkin), and Nila (A Thousand Full Moons) have all been invited to his big party!
