Paying Homage to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
The ‘Will You Write With Me?’ contest ended on 28 February… and we know you guys have been waiting to hear the results for a long time – and we assure you we have a great reason for the delay.
The reason is all of you! Yes, you and you and you. You’ve sent in such great entries to the contest that we simply couldn’t choose!
So here’s what we’ve done. We have developed a shortlist of 20 entries – and these 20 entries will be thoroughly read again and again and again to pick the top 3.

We received many entries to the contest – so many that we needed more time to read through every single entry carefully before settling on this shortlist!

Much as we'd love to offer every single participant something for their willingness and enthusiasm, it is sadly not feasible for us to do so.
We'd also love to provide individual feedback on every entry and explain to our participants the reasons behind this selection, but the sheer numbers would not allow for such personalised responses.
Our editorial team and our judges were overwhelmed by the talented pool of writers who participated in the contest. This was an extremely difficult choice to make.

It was a great experience to have participated in this contest.I Would love to read the short listed stories as well.
I guess I would be able to understand why my short story was not short listed if given that opportunity and that will really help me improve my writing.
We wish we could credit all the participants and provide individual feedback, but there were way too many entries to the contest and we (the editorial team and the judges) would not be able to do justice to the process. Good luck with your writing!
I'm totally dissatisfied with the selections. Just one look at the titles of the selected entries tells you the quality of selections. I agree some of them sound good, but the others? Gimme a break!
We value the opinions of our editorial team and our judges very highly and we can assure you that a lot of thought went into the making of this shortlist. Perhaps this is a good time to say 'Don't judge a story by its title!'
Publish the not selected stories so that we can read here and enjoy

first of all , the incomplete part available was very challenging, i changed the story line thrice before i was satisfied it was serving the purpose of the target audience !!
secondly , never judge a book by its cover,, so never judge a story by a title friends,, i am
eagerly waiting to read the winning entry .please keep us updated about future contests ..best wishes

Karthik's comment about the contest being "fun," sums up what it's all about. I believe that from the day you are born till your last living moment Life should be fun. Every day without fail when my son left for school, I said "have fun."
Now, when he leaves for work I say "have fun." I can see and hear the roar of disapproval, but believe me friends it is up to us, to make ANYTHING FUN!!!!

When will the final results be announced? Who will be notified? Only the three winners, the twenty Shortlisted participants, or every participant??
Our judges, I'm sure you guys understand, are very busy, and, although they'd love to, cannot make the time to provide individual feedback.

It was a nice contest and kudos to Karadi Tales for doing it. Challenging aspiring writers with the amazing half story was a good approach. It helps get the creative juices flowing that much more!

1. How many total entries did you receive?
2. In addition to publishing the winning entries can you also publish a complete story by the author of the 1st half? I am sure he/she had an idea on what number man was all about!

Congrats to all those shortlisted and good luck for the final cut. I do think it's a little unfair that one person with multiple entries gets 3 of the slots though!
We'd be very happy to publish the author's own ending to the story (yes, the author has written one!). We'll keep you posted on this.
The shortlist was made without the names of the author's on the entries. We too were surprised to see three entries by the same writer on the shortlist, and let us assure you that this was done in the fairest way possible.
Again, we must say that all the entries were amazing and our judges had a tough time making the shortlist.
Given how time-consuming the process will be, they unfortunately will not be able to provide individual feedback.

Had a gruelling time cooking up an ending for the story. But am extremely amused to know that there was an author who had already finished his/her undisclosed peice. I am curious to know the original ending and as to how far away I am from it. Also please do publish the 3 winning entries atleast.

Rather, you could provide this link: https://www.karaditales.com/contest.aspx and ask your readers to download the first half of the story from there. Karadi Tales must be credited for this.
Karadi Tales reserves the complete and total rights to the first half of the story. It cannot be used for promotional / commercial purposes without permission from Karadi Tales.

The 3 winning authors have received publishing contracts from Karadi Tales. The book will be published by Spring 2011 and we're very much looking forward to it!
