- The logical, neurological and intuitive processes of language learning
- Defining and differentiating between “mother tongue”, “first language” and “second    language”
- Overcoming the “second language syndrome” and developing multilingual capabilities

2. The Science of Nursery Rhymes (Click here to find out about the next scheduled workshop)

Children spend over 2000 hours during their most productive developmental phase with nursery rhymes. Do we know how to make the most of it?

The workshop will explore the many facets of a nursery rhyme.. conceptual, cultural, developmental aspects, their neurological corelations, the role of music and how all these facets impact the development of a child. These will be discussed with interactive and illustrative exercises. The workshop will enable teachers and parents to make a more judicious selection of nursery rhymes and make nursery rhyme time more enjoyable and more productive.

Analyzing these simple, first lessons in spoken language, the workshop is a powerful eye opener on the possibilities of the simple nursery rhyme.
